Looking at the past helps us to understand where we are at present. On Thursday, 13 August at noon on Zoom1, Jeanette Walowitz and Debbie Kesselman will bring the voice of James Baldwin to the fore. In their analysis of Baldwin’s “Letters from a Region in My Mind,” which was published in The New Yorker in November 1962, they will help us understand that issues of police brutality in communities of color and of the fear that defines being black and brown in America have been with us, and are still with us today.
