Let’s get together for a delayed Hanukkah celebration as we share food and discuss family Hanukkah holiday traditions.
Bring your favorite latkes (we won’t be able to warm them up), jelly doughnuts, refreshments, etc.
We welcome anyone with any familial connection to the Holocaust, so we are including survivors, second and third generation, in-laws, cousins, and whoever wants to join. This is open to RSNS members and family members of congregants.
7th-grade weekly meeting, which is designed to encourage the development of Jewish identity. Parents join the classes once a month, and the class starts with a day-long family retreat.
ROUNDS SINGING at the Reconstructionist Synagogue of the North Shore
Rounds singing is a fun group activity that is sure to lighten your winter mood. No level of music ability is required, just the desire to belt out some tunes. We will provide some of our favorite rounds but encourage you to bring some as well.
Calling all musicians, singers, listeners, dancers, etc.! Join us for our monthly musical program at RSNS. We’ll learn new prayer melodies together, and explore the deeper layers of the liturgical text and the music. Part rehearsal, part text study, and part spiritual practice, we’ll create community through shared music-making and learning. All levels and ages are welcome.
Shemi Zarhin, one of the most respected and unique voices in Israeli cinema for over 30 years, presents a moving, tender and wise love story. We follow the life of a couple whose love for each other and their family transcends social norms, financial struggles and their past mistakes. BLISS (Hemda) was filmed before the Israel-Hamas war began, in an area of northern Israel that has been the target of thousands of missile attacks by Hezbollah since October 7th 2023. Featuring the delicate fabric of the population consisting of different groups – Jews and Arabs, religious and secular, immigrants and native born, BLISS (Hemda) tackles the situation in Israel today in an original, human, illuminating way.
Join us for our weekly review of the “situation” in Israel with our resident Israeli guide Julian Resnick. He is a guide who truly helps to bring what is happening in the world outside ourselves into ourselves. We will grapple with the big questions at this sacred moment in time.
