We can’t do it without YOU!

Jewish philanthropy emphasizes the responsibility of the community to care for its members and those in need, both locally and globally. So where better to give, than to give to our own community.

Jewish fundraising is often viewed as a ‘gift of asking,’ where fundraisers are seen as not just asking for money, but as sharing a vision and a cause that resonates with potential donors.

Our dues do not cover all our expenses at RSNS.  We happily construct meaningful fundraising events and activities to address our needs and foster community building. We are often searching for congregants to collaborate with us on these wonderful occasions. Plus, we try very hard to put the FUN into fundraising.

We just had our very successful Mishloach Manot Fundraiser. Some of you may not have even realized that this is a fundraising event because it is about so much more than raising money. It is probably the most intergenerational event at RSNS.  Everyone can participate in a variety of ways.  The bags are decorated by the youngest members of our community, while people of all ages participate in assembling the bags, baking, and delivering packages. And how about those Hamantaschen Happenings!!! What a great way to be together in community and get to meet others while baking delicious treats for all to enjoy. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to JOYVA for their generous and delicious contributions to the bags. The bags had more than edible items in them, thanks to the work of some committee members. Sorry, no answers to the puzzles…maybe you can compare with other congregants. We had so much fun assembling the bags, and thanks to a wonderful turnout, we put them together in record time! We do need more people to volunteer to deliver next year.  It’s so much fun to see the reactions of people when they get their bags. We apologize to those who are geographically inconvenient. Next year, if you want a bag, let us know, and you can pick it up at RSNS. Also, if you know you will be away, please opt out!  And, of course-THANK YOU to everyone who participated in any way and to all who contributed.

On Sunday, April 27th, we are having our annual SHREDDING event. Bring your sensitive documents to be shredded on-site at RSNS from 9am – 12pm, while fundraising for our community. Open to All!

Our next FUN event is our gala. We don’t do stuffy, rubber chicken, boring speeches events like other charities might do. This year, we are honoring all the people who have given so generously of their time and have served as President of our Board of Trustees. Save the Date – June 7th at 7 pm at RSNS!!!  More information will be coming soon. We keep the cost of the event as low as possible; your ticket covers our expenses. We raise money from sponsorship levels and our fundraising piece. So, come and join us as we honor and celebrate fellow congregants who have worked hard to help make RSNS the wonderful community it is.

The Blessing for the Congregation, Tefilah Lakehilah, includes the following words: “…and those who provide light for the lamps, and wine for Kiddush and Havdalah, and food for guests, and donations for the poor, and all those who faithfully are occupied with the needs of the community…”  Thank you to all who have generously contributed and participated in our fundraising efforts to help keep the lights on, nourish us, and grow our amazing community.
