From Learners to Leaders: Gan Shalom Alumni are this Summer’s Classroom Educators

This summer, a special group of teachers brings a heart-warming energy to Gan Shalom! Visit the bulletin boards and you might do a double-take – some of those smiling faces in the class pictures from 15 years ago now greet families as our summer teachers! These are our very own Gan Shalom alumni, returning to the classrooms where they once reached out for grownup hands now confidently returning the gesture, ready to guide and inspire the next generation.

Harry, Jenna, Eve, and Naomi’s presence are more than just a nostalgic nod to the past. It embodies the spirit of Gan Shalom itself – a place where connections are fostered, memories are made, and a deep commitment to Jewish values takes root. The summer days will be filled with the laughter of children splashing in sprinklers, the vibrant colors of painting projects, and all the joys that come with the season. But beneath the surface of these activities lies a deeper meaning. With each warm smile and open arm, our alumni teachers aren’t just leading games; they’re planting the seeds of leadership, nurturing a sense of belonging in their young students, and inspiring them to embrace the same values they learned within these very walls. We can’t wait to see these future leaders blossom, and just as our alumni teachers have done, return one day to share their own gifts with the next generation of Gan Shalom.
