Monday Message

(email sent 5/18/2020)

Good Evening,

I don't know how it's possible that Memorial Day is this upcoming weekend.  The past two months were somehow very slow and very fast at the same time.  And, for me, some of the weeks have blended together.  This week, however, looks a bit different on my calendar.  Most notably, there is a llama slated for a zoom call tomorrow!  Add to that a library visit, and family yoga in the middle of the day, and this is shaping up to be a wacky, and fun, week!

Please join us for any and all of the following:
Yoga with Morah Leah (the kid's one was today, but video clips are on the specials page of the Gan Shalom website for you to reference any time you wish!)

Virtual Farm Field Trip on Tuesday (tomorrow), 5/19, from 1:30-2:00
Gan Shalom families are invited on a Virtual field trip to Sweet Farm - A sustainable farm in California that doubles as a home for rescued factory farm animals!  During the program, we will visit various animals around the farm. We will learn interesting facts about farm animals and be able to ask questions to their animal care team.

Librarian Lesley Virtual Field Trip, Wednesday, 5/20, from 1:00-1:30
Join us as we "visit" with Librarian Lesley, Port Washington Library's Children's Librarian, for some books, songs, felt-board activities, and more!

Family Yoga with Morah Leah on Wednesday, 5/20, from 2:00-2:30
Take a short break from the business of the day for a quick afternoon Family Yoga session!

Fun in the Kitchen with Morah Debbie on Wednesday, 5/20, from 4:00-4:30
(I know, there is a lot to do this Wednesday!  Guess it will help us get over the mid-week hump!)  Join Morah Debbie and have fun rolling out dough to make Flatbread Crackers - it's easy to make them VEGAN too!

Music with Moreh Stephen on Thursday, 5/21, from 3:00-3:30

Shabbat with Cantor Eric on Friday, 5/22, from 1:15-1:45

Literature & Art with Morah Miriam on Friday, 5/22, from 2:00-2:30 (Earlier Time!)
Literature Selection: Here Comes The Garbage Barge by Jonah Winters
Create Recycled Art while using your imagination!

All Zoom Meeting ID numbers and Zoom links, as well as descriptions and details for several of these specials, are on the specials page of the Gan Shalom website.

I hope you all have a peaceful week and enjoy the beautiful weather... in between zoom sessions and calls with your teachers, of course!
