A Request If I Might...

(email sent 4/6/2020)

Good Evening All,

I'm wondering if I could please make a request about "off-hours" accessibility of our Gan Shalom teachers.  As you know, we have been embracing the connection that technology is affording us at this time.  It is wonderful that we can all be accessible to each other, while being distant. I would just like to ask that we keep a few considerations in mind, especially with texting and FaceTime.

If you need to reach your teacher at times not designated for children's individual calls or Zoom meetings, please utilize email as you have always done.  The teachers will answer emails and get back to you, as always.  Text messaging should not be used, as it often comes through when teachers are on calls with children, or busy with their own families in their "off-time."

Additionally, I must ask that you do not FaceTime teachers.  They will FaceTime you at your child's individual time that you have both agreed on.  Again, most of our teachers are working from home and have their own households in motion.  We are trying to respect everyone's work/life balance as much as possible during this time, for both individual and family well-being.

Again, if there are any needs, please just email your teacher.  I'm sure they will answer.  And, I am always available by phone or email.

Finally, if you could try to make sure that during Zoom meetings or FaceTime calls, televisions or other media are not running at the same time, our teachers would appreciate it.  We all understand that right now our houses are full of distractions from other family members, work calls, and the like, but other technology is something we can likely suspend fairly easily during their "school" appointments.

In advance, I thank you for reading through this request.
Have a good night,
Rhya
