On the Violence in Isreal

We know the people who were targeted, people like us out for a latte or a dish of ice cream or a frozen hot chocolate; and we know the place, Max Brenner’s whose sister restaurant in New York City is just off Union Square.  And so the violence becomes all the more personal, but no less senseless.  We join the People of Israel, and all who long for peace throughout the region in mourning the loss of life, and in wishing a complete recovery for the surviving victims in Wednesday’s massacre in Tel Aviv.  May the time soon come when all who live in that land experience a true peace, the peace of the mundane, a peace in which an evening stroll is without terror or fear.
