ZOOM: Israeli Movie Series

The third installation in this year’s ISRAELI MOVIE SERIES is coming up on April 4th/5th!

In light of the pandemic we will be adapting this session, as follows:
Saturday, April 4th, 5pm - Pre movie lecture via Zoom videoconferencing.

Each family can stream the movie on their own, (available to rent through various subscriptions, including Amazon, YouTube, iTunes; movie rentals cost approx $4).

Sunday, April 5th, 5PM - We will reconvene through Zoom to debrief and discuss the movie.

Teens welcome!

This year’s theme is Israeli Arab/Palestinian narratives in Israeli Culture. In the upcoming award-winning movie, “Borrowed Identity,” we follow the story of a gifted Arab boy who attends a prestigious, mostly Jewish, high school in Jerusalem. We will explore the topic of Arab Israeli identity in an Israeli Jewish world.

FYI, The movie is in Arabic and Hebrew with subtitles. There are a couple of subtle sex scenes with some partial nudity (likely a PG13 rating).

If you need support setting up Zoom or with streaming the movie, please contact me or Cantor Eric In the next couple of weeks and and we will gladly walk you through this. Zoom information will be posted as we get closer to this date.

Lehitraot and wishing all our congregants much health and safety,
Orly and the Israel Engagement Committee
