Israeli Film Series

A three-part exploration of Israeli cinema and culture led by Israeli congregant Orly Dotan. Films and film clips will be watched as catalysts to conversations about elements of contemporary Israeli society.

Dates: 12/1, 2/2, 3/30

This year’s theme for our series is dealing with complicated issues in Israel, seen through the lens of individual stories.
The first film, on 12/1/18, “Foxtrot” (2017) depicts the personal costs and futility of war.
Our second movie (2/2/19), Gett, will touch on the power of the rabbinate courts as we see the story of one woman who wants to get divorced.
Our third movie, The Matchmaker (currently scheduled for 3/30/19 — date might change) will show life post-holocaust.
Hope to see you there!
